Guided Deer Hunting Trips in Montana with Hoover Outfitting

Hoover Outfitting offers a variety of deer hunts in Montana, including Mule Deer and Whitetail. All hunts are 5 days. Archery season begins the first Saturday in September for five weeks. Rifle season begins the last Sunday in October for five weeks.

MILK RIVER

The Milk River, famed for its heavy-antlered whitetail, offers hunters the opportunity for quality bucks. This cottonwood lined river bottom with its steep cut banks and chocolate colored water provide ample cover and forage for the bucks to grow. We take a limited number of rifle hunters each year. These fair chase hunts are very exclusive.

WILLOW CREEK RANCH

Located in the remote Big Sky country near Glasgow, Montana, this 35,000 acres of deeded land, surrounded by thousands of BLM acres, offers a great opportunity for those hunters looking for quality mule deer. Home to a substantial native deer herd, this secluded region of sagebrush and grassland also boasts migratory deer offering the potential for even greater numbers. We take a limited number of hunters in order to keep the wildlife abundant and our success rates high. There are some nice whitetails. Hunters may choose either species.

WEST FORK

The West Fork hunt is located near Glasgow, MT. This is a remote part of Montana that offers prime mule deer habitat. The open country consists of thousands of acres and varies from rolling plains and rough draws to some steep canyons. This is a combination of enormous amounts of public and some private land that has tremendous opportunity for quality mule deer. There are also some nice whitetails. Hunters may choose either species.

HORSEBACK HUNT

Our most rigorous yet rewarding hunt available. Ride to those hard to get to places where the big bucks hide. We horseback into a Wilderness Study Area as well as other rough breaks. Access is not available for motorized vehicles which creates a tremendous opportunity for quality mule deer.

LICENSING

Guaranteed license applications are only available through an outfitter. Applications must be in by March 15. Apply online or get applications from the outfitter. License prices vary each year. New applications are available to outfitters in January of each year. Original signatures from hunter and outfitter are mandatory on written applications. If you choose to apply online the outfitter needs only to confirm your application.

If you choose to apply through the general draw, application odds vary depending on the license. Past odds have been around 18% for deer.
